I’m working on a bigger written piece for Wordpress, but it’s taking a while, so in the meantime I thought I’d lead off with a bit of catch up post since all I’ve really been sharing recently is the 365.
So it’s summer! School is over, P6 have moved on to secondary school and everyone else has moved up a year. I’m still in school teaching extra classes, the long-term-ness of staying here is still based on whether or not the classes last past the summer (more on that in Wordpress).
We have a bunch of new students. I’m not sure if they are just here for the summer classes (English isn’t the only class going on, they have classes on most of the other subjects too) or if they are moving to this school. Today was only the first day, so I’m not sure if there will be more coming but it looks like about 30 students are coming in. All age ranges though I’d say 40% are in P1 and P2. My morning job, entertain them for thirty minutes.
Something that will keep all in the age ranges of 5 to 12 happy. So this morning, as usual thrown into the deep end, we did basic introductions, Simon Says, and some basic feelings (happy, sad, hot, cold and the like) and turned them into simple games. About half the parents were still there watching me, no pressure then. But it went really well.
Also the morning activity isn’t just too be English stuff, it can be any kind of games. So with such a small group I have a few ideas that might be fun, it’s just a case of explaining it that I’m always a little nervous about.
My Thai is taking off in leaps and bounds and I’m looking forward to my trip to Laos for a new visa next week.
With everything up in the air it’s been difficult to sit down and write about stuff because I don’t know what’s going to happen, but I’ll try and start bringing more written stuff back here, I miss the short posts a lot and I want to get back to the blogs roots.
So with that I’ll love you and leave you, hopefully there will be a new post in the next week or so, followed by a post about Laos, some more photo’s that are non-365 and some real information this month about what the hell’s actually going on in the coming school year.
Massive thanks to all who read this and follow along. Much love to you all, until next time…
